Great Black and White Photographers Part 3
1.) What caught my attention when I first saw Bill Brandt's work was how he took pictures of people and all the details he was able to capture. He's just not trying to catch your attention with the person but with the background too. Something particular about his work is that he catches your attention not just from one place but from different angles. Thats something unique that not a lot of people do when they take pictures.
I see: A guy with a jacket on with the hood on looking to the side. The background is dark and the sun is hitting him on the left side. You can see his shadow on his jacket its like his reflection on his sweater of his face on the right side of his jacket.
I smell: Something strange but at the same time familiar. The smell doesn't really surprise me because I don't react to it. I act like I don't smell anything and just breath normal like I didn't smell anything.
I hear: Footsteps getting closer and closer to my room I stand in the corner waiting to see who it is. I'm expecting there arrival but hoping they don't see me and blind in the darkness.
I taste: Something weird and prefer not to keep chewing on it. I just close my mouth and try to keep a serious face not wanting to throw it or making it seem like something was in my mouth.
I feel: Depressed trying to get away from everybody and not wanting to talk to anybody. I decide to stand alone in a dark corner. I want to have peace and quiet for a little trying to get away from the world.
I see: Four buildings with fog up to the middle of the building. I'm looking at this amazing view from the top of the buildings looking down at the view. It looks different from the top of the building then it would look if I was on the ground because I'm looking at it from a different prospective.
I smell: I smell fog combined with wet mud it smells disgusting and weird. I don't like smelling this because you can smell all the waste of the environment around you. You can smell everything that we have produced through the factories.
I hear: Noise above me coming from the sky and the noise everybody makes from below. I can hear people below driving through the streets trying to make their way through the city. I can also hear people around me in the building.
I taste: I can taste the air around me and whats in the air the rain thats in the fog. The leaves that are in the fog and the humidity thats in the air everywhere.
I feel: Sticky and moist liquid all over my arms and legs. The humidity in the air caused me to feel sticky and wet. I also feel down and mellow because of the weather and how the day looks so down and dark makes it seem like a boring down day.
3.) I would like to create a blog about Bill Brandt to show everybody his pictures and tell them whats behind those pictures and why he decided to become a photographer. It would inform people about him and his art work and be interested in the type of photos he takes.
