The Camera

Parallx- The effect whereby the position or direction of an object appears to differ when viewed from different positions.

Pentax- A type of lens that is extremely thin and light. It has used the highest index of refraction, at 1.67.

Pentaprism- A pentaprism is a five-sided reflecting prism used to deviate a beam of light by 90°. The beam reflects inside the prism twice.

Pellicle- A thin skin, cuticle, membrane, or film.


Aperture- An opening, hole, or gap.

Shutter- Each of a pair of hinged panels fixed inside or outside a window that can be closed for security or privacy or to keep out light.

Exposure- The state of being exposed to contact with something.

Depth Of Field- The distance between the nearest and the furthest objects that give an image judged to be in focus in a camera.

F-stop- In optics, the f-number (sometimes called focal ratio, f-ratio, f-stop, or relative aperture) of an optical system. 

Focal Length- The distance between the center of a lens or curved mirror and its focus.
