Unusual and Interesting Photos
Part 1
1. My reaction to this work was impressed I had never seen anything like this I didn't know you could take pictures like this.
2. I think he just took one picture and duplicated the pictures or made one picture be reflected on both sides of the original picture.
3. A good building you could do this on is The Capitol in Austin, Texas, The Eiffel Tower in Paris,France or The Slanted Building in France. It would be easy to access The Capitol because I live here in Austin but it would be hard to access The Eiffel Tower and The Slanted Building because its on the other side of the world.

1. My reaction to this picture is amazed because you can see see the three buildings perfectly even though there over lapping.
2. I think he just duplicated the one picture to make it seem like there's three buildings when there's really one.
3. This building wouldn't be easy to access because its located in Europe on the other side of the world.

Part 2
1. I picked this picture because i have never seen anything like this before its really amazing how his face is on the front cover of the book.
2. I found this picture on Photojournalist Of The Year (smaller markets)
3. It won first place.
4. The photographer made the picture of the front cover look really realistic which caught my eye because she tricked me into thinking that the front cover was the little boy's face reading the book.
5. I think it weighed a lot on the judges mind because the picture is the attention grabber and it made it seem like the picture of the boy on the cover was the picture of the boy who is reading the book.
6. I think the photographer had to think outside the box do something that hasn't been done before to make it a unique picture.
1. I picked this picture because I have never seen anything like this before! You can see how the bull is stabbing the eye through the inside making it pop out in the outside.
2. I found this picture on Sports Action
3. This picture won second place.
4. The photographer took the picture at the right moment because you could see everything that's going on every detail. It really caught my eye because its very disturbing seeing how his eye is about to pop out!
5. I think the picture over all had a big weight on the judges to determine what place it deserved and if it was something unique that had been captured.
6. I think the photographer had to be ready with their camera to be able to capture the perfect moment so they could have a good picture to submit to the contest.
Part 3
1.These are three important things to remember Four things every photographer should know how to do: take a photo of a reflection, take a photo of a hand, take a photo of him/herself, and take a photo showing perspective. Pure storytelling through facial expressions. We do not even have to hear the rumor to know everything that is happening here. Being able to capture a story telling expression is an awesome skill to have as a photographer. Mueller is a master of perspective. Looking at his art from a different angle completely changes the illusion of depth here. What this can teach photographers is to never stop looking for the right angle to take a photo.
2. My favorite picture is The Great Wave at Kanagawa by Katsushika Hokusai
3. Real life example is
4. I think the photographer did follow the suggestions fully because he knew how to capture the moment in the painting like the one in real life.
5. The style of painting i like better is the cartoon one because it has more details then the real life picture.

National Geographic Photos and Ethics in Photography

This is my favorite picture because I love how you can see what there looking at through the reflection of their eye. I also like how you notice all the details because its taken so close to their eye. I just like how you can notice everything you wouldn't notice if you didn't look closely at the picture.

I would submit a picture of the slanted building in Rome to be in the contest because its an amazing picture and its amazing how its still standing if its slanted. It a unique piece of art because the buildings are always straight never slanted its something different then what we normally see.

Photo Manipulation and Ethics

The story is talking about how all the pictures that were being posted on the internet or on the newspaper were being Photoshop to make them look different then the original ones. This was happening in the month of April it was something very strange that had never happened before and they didn't know why it started in April. Whoever was doing this was making an unprecedented violations.

This type of photo editing is unethical because its making fun of the person in the picture and its not a professional thing to do. Its ruining a photographers perfect picture by transforming it to a different picture trying to make fun of the picture they have taken.

Before:                                                     After:
I think this picture was the most unethical because they totally changed the front cover of the magazine. They decided to put a picture up of a colored person so they can make it seem that they have a diverse campus. There being racist because they're trying to make a black guy fit in with the white crowd. This is offending the black guy in this picture because their making it seem like something when that's not really not even happening.

This picture isn't as bad as the other ones because all they did was move the pyramids closer together. It didn't really hurt anyone or bother anyone because it was just a slight change to a physical feature. It didn't make fun of anyone or anything they just wanted to make the picture smaller so it could fit the front cover of the magazine.

Camera history information

1. The effect came to be known as the "camera obscura" which is Latin for "dark room". This was the first camera. The hole acted like a lens, focusing and projecting light onto the wall of the dark chamber.

2. In the 17th century, the modern camera came one step closer when Isaac Newton and Christian Huygens perfected the understanding of optics and the process of making high quality glass lenses.

3. A glass lens, a dark box, and film.

4.  Light passes through the lens, into the camera, and exposes the film. And guess what? The end result is still a photograph.

5. Replacing old-fashioned plastic film, digital cameras capture the images with an electronic sensor called a CCD.

Camera Modes

6. The auto mode is the camera will completely control flash and exposure. Program mode is automatic assistant you just point and shoot.

7. The portrait mode is used for to blur out the background and the camera does tries to do it the fastest way available liens in settings.

8. The camera mode is used to freeze motion and the camera will use the highest shutter speed possible.

9. You should do half press on the trigger button because you capture a better and clearer picture then you would without doing the half press on the trigger.

10. It means theres no flash, flash is disabled. You would use this when the natural light is used.

11. It means enabled by your default and will use the flash whenever its necessary it will do it automatic for you when the camera thinks the picture needs more light.

12. If theres too much light the picture will be washed out.

13. If theres not enough light the picture will be too dark.

14. A "stop" is used in every aspect of photography to represent a relative change in the brightness in light.

15. The new planet is 2 stops brighter then a planet with one son.

16. The new planet is 4 stops brighter then a planet with two sons.

17.  A longer shutter speed has more light.

18. A shorter shutter speed has less light.

19. The aperture controls how much light reaches film.

20. You can increase the amount of light by setting the "Aperture Opening."
Touching People

1. I think this project is a good idea because you can get really good pictures with strangers together. It might seem weird because you don't know the person your taking pictures with but they can be really good pictures and turn out to be one of the top pictures.
2. I would be weirded out and I might accept the offer. I would accept the offer because its a new experience you don't get to do everyday. The pictures might even come out really good even though your taking pictures with a stranger.
3. An unusual photo shoot would be at a concert of your favorite artist and there manager randomly asks you if you want to take pictures with them at an Amusement Park. I would definitely accept the offer because you never get that opportunity and you don't know if you will have that opportunity again. Might as well accept the offer before its to late and they ask somebody else.
4. The photographs are pretty good but you can tell there strangers and feel uncomfortable about it. The pictures would have been better if there face reaction looked more real like they actually knew each other. It would also help if they smiled in the picture it would make it look more real.

40 Greatest Photos Taken

I picked this picture because its really strange to see a little boy saluting since he doesn't know the reason why there doing it. It caught my attention because the little boy looks so cute saluting on his fathers funeral. I think this picture made the top 40 because you never see this in real life its really strange for a little boy saluting to his father or soldier.

I picked this picture because its really adorable how this man is so happy to be reunited with his dog after a tsunami. It caught my attention because usually people are happy to see their family members are still alive not there pet. I think this picture mad the top 40 because it really shows how somebody can be so attached to their pet, they might not be a human being but there definitely something important in their life.

I picked this picture because its cute how the little boy doesn't want to let his dad leave to go to war. It caught my attention because it cute how the little boy doesn't understand the situation his dad is in and just want his to stay with him and not leave him or his mother. I think this picture made it to the top 40 because its an emotional moment seeing how a 5 year old boy doesn't want to leave his fathers side.

Great Black and White Photographers Part 2

Bill Brandt is considered to be one of the most important British photographers of the 20th century. Bill was born on May 2, 1904 and passed away on December 20, 1983 at the age of 79. He was born in Hamburg, Germany but moved to England at a young age. Bill spent most of his youth in a sanatorium when the doctors had discovered he had tuberculosis. He traveled to Vienna to take treatment for tuberculosis and he was considered cured. After he was cured Ezra Pound visited Schwarzwald where Bill was at and made Ezra a portrait. As appreciation Ezra offered Bill an introduction to Man Ray who was an American modernist artist. After this Bill moved to London and began to document all levels of British society. This kind of of documentary was uncommon at this time. Some of his books that he published were The English at Home, A Night in London, Literary Britain and Perspective of Nudes. During World War II he focused on portraits and landscapes. In 2004 he received a major retrospective exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Also an English Heritage Blue Plaque was erected to Bill in 2010.
